ONE TEAM ONE FAMILY!!
About Young Christians in Action Youth Sports (YCAYS)
YCAYS was created to prepare youth for a better future. Whether it is learning about religion or learning to play basketball, YCAYS has been successful in the positive development of youth. YCAYS began with the development of young men over 10 years ago. These young men were taught the game of basketball from the beginning. During the 90's, the same young men (Melbourne Bulls)
were awarded several basketball championships at the State and National level. As a result, a large number of the young men that were members of YCAYS are now playing college basketball.
YCAYS came back on the scene for the young ladies (Jacksonville Lady Rams) in February of 2003. As history would have it, these young ladies would have to be taught the game of basketball from the beginning. Three months later, AAU was awarding the young ladies a State Championship for 2003 and again for 2004 and once more for 2005 and another in 2006 and a huge one for 2007. The 12u was the second Lady Rams team to win AAU State Champions 2007;
then 10u took 3rd place in the AAU State Championship this year.
The Lady Rams girls basketball teams range in ages from 10-17 years old. All teams have traveled across the U.S.A. playing the best competition and being recognized for their character and skills. Our most recognizable accomplishments were the opportunities to represent the City of Jacksonville, Duval County, and the State of Florida. YCAYS is also a member of the
jrnba/jrwna program.
We have received recognition from the Mayor of Jacksonville, John Peyton.
